Undergraduate & Master’s R&D Intern – Summer 2027

About the role

Join 3M’s global R&D team as an Undergraduate or Master’s Research & Development Intern for a 10‑12 week summer assignment in 2027. You will work alongside senior researchers on cutting‑edge product and technology projects, gaining hands‑on experience in a collaborative, innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of new technologies and improvement of existing 3M products.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional R&D teams, including analytical chemists and process engineers.
• Document experiments in electronic laboratory notebooks for potential patent filings.
• Analyze, interpret, and communicate experimental results.
• Lead assigned project tasks toward advanced technical solutions.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s program in a scientific or engineering discipline.
• Strong curiosity and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced research environment.
• Ability to work full‑time for a 10‑12 week period.
