About the role
Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Transitions Project Manager to join its Global Supply Chain Transitions team in Austin, Texas. This onsite role focuses on managing supplier transitions—including site moves, dual‑sourcing, supplier exits, and M&A integration—to ensure continuity of supply for manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead supplier transition projects from scoping through qualification, implementation, and closure, tracking milestones, dependencies, and risks.
- Coordinate site and part qualification activities with engineering and quality teams, managing inspections, validations, and issue resolution.
- Handle Supplier Notifications, verify change compliance, resolve system conflicts, and advance approvals.
- Drive cross‑functional collaboration across Design Engineering, Supplier Engineering, Quality, Business Unit Materials, and external supplier contacts.
- Analyze part, supplier, and qualification data to identify trends, produce risk reports, and support business decisions.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 4–7 years of project or program management experience in a matrixed or global environment.
- Supply chain, procurement or sourcing background preferred; engineering or technical experience a plus.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CAPM, or Six Sigma are advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to senior stakeholders.
