Training Specialist - Automation, Advanced Manufacturing Training

About the role

The Technical College System of Georgia’s Office of Quick Start seeks a Training Specialist to deliver automation and advanced manufacturing training across the state. You will work in classroom and hands‑on lab settings, develop curricula, and travel to client sites to assess workforce needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction and hands‑on lab training on mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting.
• Develop and update Industry 4.0 curricula aligned with Quick Start standards and client requirements.
• Design, build, and maintain training systems and lab environments for PLC, HMI, robotics, and mechatronics.
• Conduct on‑site client assessments to identify training needs.
• Collaborate with other instructors and leadership to ensure consistent training methods and standards.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a related field plus three years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred, along with additional experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or technical instruction.

Required skills

• PLC programming and control (Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens).
• HMI systems, industrial networking, robotics, and mechatronics.
• Mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and Lean Manufacturing principles.
