Trailer Mechanic – Full‑Time

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join its San Diego Service Center. This full‑time position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of trailers to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections and prepare required FMCSA documentation.
• Interpret technical manuals and service bulletins.
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems.
• Conduct equipment testing to verify performance against manufacturer specifications.
• Execute preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on trailers.
• Lift and handle components up to 50 lb and work in varying climate conditions.

Required profile

• Proven experience with safety inspections and FMCSA compliance.
• Ability to read and apply technical manuals.
• Hands‑on experience repairing trailers and performing PMs.
• Dependable, self‑motivated, and able to work onsite.
• Own set of tools and willingness to work in diverse weather.
