Tool Crib Attendant – 1st Shift

About the role

The Tool Crib Attendant works under the supervision of a Supervisor on the 1st shift, handling purchases, receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking spare parts, tools, materials, and equipment. This position supports manufacturing operations and helps minimize downtime for mechanics.

Key responsibilities

• Issue inventory items to team members by locating parts in SAP, logging checkout, and updating SAP records.
• Create purchase requisitions in SAP and request quotes from suppliers via call, fax, or email.
• Receive, inspect, label, inventory, and store incoming shipments of parts, equipment, and supplies.
• Monitor radio calls for breakdowns, parts requests, and deliveries, and deliver parts to mechanics promptly.
• Operate a forklift to unload trucks and manage universal waste storage.
• Conduct inventory cycle counts, maintain a clean and organized tool crib, and assist mechanics with purchase requests and stock level recommendations.
• Maintain manuals, vendor catalogs, and deliver MSDS documents to the plant nurse.

Required profile

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of related, verifiable work experience (can substitute for education).
• Experience supporting a stock room, tool crib, or similar environment preferred.

Required skills

• Basic PC skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using SAP for inventory and purchasing.
• Familiarity with AMM for work orders.
• Forklift operation certification.
