Tobacco Cessation Interventionist

About the role

The Tobacco Cessation Interventionist will join the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences to lead evidence‑based tobacco‑free initiatives. This professional staff position focuses on counseling patients, developing cessation programs, and supporting the health of Arkansan communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and group tobacco‑cessation counseling to patients and staff.
• Design, implement, and evaluate cessation intervention programs across clinical settings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate cessation services into routine care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and program outcomes.
• Deliver educational workshops and materials on tobacco‑free living.
• Track and report program metrics to support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, health education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Demonstrated experience in tobacco‑cessation counseling or program coordination.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
