Tire Mechanic – Full‑Time (Norwalk, OH)

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking an experienced Tire Mechanic for its Norwalk, OH service center. This full‑time position offers a fast‑paced environment where you will service class 8 fleet vehicles and perform on‑road service calls.

Key responsibilities

• Change and repair tires on tractor‑trailer (class 8) vehicles.
• Perform service calls on the road using a service truck.
• Execute additional duties as directed by management.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of commercial tire experience.
• Ability to lift up to 125 lb and stand on concrete for extended periods.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required.

Required skills

• Mount and dismount truck and car tires.
• Operate truck balancer (on and off the truck).
• Current operator’s license and ability to perform road service calls.
• Basic knowledge of DOT tire information and out‑of‑service criteria.
• Identify retread vs. new tires, wheel types, and proper fasteners.
• Operate 1‑inch air wrench and basic hand tools; properly tighten wheels.
