Testing Technician I

About the role

The Testing Technician is responsible for assembling, disassembling and testing equipment, components and finished assemblies to ensure they meet specifications before shipment. The role may involve travel to support offshore and international installations, repairs or services.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble and test assemblies for onshore and offshore surface and subsea applications.
• Interpret test data to verify compliance with client and internal specifications.
• Document test results for each project and maintain training and competency records.
• Install fittings and hardware on hydraulic hoses and perform high‑pressure testing of hoses, tubes and umbilicals.
• Conduct electrical testing of components and umbilicals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Mechanical aptitude with ability to read blueprints, schematics and work instructions.
• Computer skills for recording, interpreting and reporting test data.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC for site access.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; knowledge of hydrostatic and electrical testing advantageous.
• Passport may be required; ability to work offshore for extended periods.

Required skills

• Hydraulic pump operation (pneumatic and electric).
• Electrical testing and use of electrical test equipment.
• Hydrostatic testing of hoses, tubes and umbilicals.
• Interpretation of test data.
• Reading engineering drawings, hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Repair of polyethylene jacketed umbilicals following certified procedures.
