Temporary Maintenance Technician – Elevate Long Beach

About the role

The Temporary Maintenance Technician will support the Elevate Long Beach community by ensuring all building systems, grounds, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance, and functionality. This onsite position works Monday‑Friday with occasional weekend call‑outs.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident work orders and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and completing repairs in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Assist with grounds upkeep, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, trash removal, and minor painting of curbs and signage.
• Inspect contractor work to verify compliance with quality standards and scope.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in mid‑rise residential properties.
• EPA Type I, II or Universal certification for refrigerant recycling.
• Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart on the property.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Yardi property management software.
• Strong use of Microsoft Outlook for communication and scheduling.
• EPA refrigerant recycling certification.
