Technical Specification Writer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a talented Technical Specification Writer to support the production of specifications and integrate them into construction documents for rail transit projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, revise, and maintain technical specifications and the Manual of Design Criteria.
• Create technical documents that support design, construction, contracts, and operations for capital and non‑capital projects.
• Prepare policy and procedure documentation.
• Maintain up‑to‑date versions of technical standards in an orderly manner.
• Conduct timely technical reviews of draft documents.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or a related field.
• Minimum of five years’ experience preparing technical specifications for rail transit projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Extensive experience with all Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Knowledge of rail transit design standards, safety and security regulations, and OSHA policies.
