Technical Manager – Engineering Leadership

About the role

3M is seeking a Technical Manager to lead an engineering organization in Menomonie, WI. The role focuses on safety, quality, service and productivity improvements while fostering a strong EHS culture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of Process, Manufacturing and Product Engineers.
• Drive safety, quality, service and productivity initiatives across the site.
• Develop and execute continuous‑improvement plans aligned with plant and business objectives to improve OEE.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain partners to support new product introductions.
• Apply systematic methodologies such as root‑cause analysis to solve complex manufacturing problems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, verified before start date.
• At least eight years of engineering or manufacturing operations experience in private, public, government or military settings.
• Proven ability to lead, influence and coach teams without direct authority.
• Strong analytical, organizational and decision‑making capabilities.
• Experience supervising direct reports and developing high‑performance teams.
• Understanding of principle‑based leadership, operational excellence and financial accounting.
