Technical Account Manager 3 - Major Incident Team

About the role

NetApp is hiring a Technical Account Manager (TAM) for its Major Incident Team in Morrisville, NC. The role blends technical expertise with customer success skills to guide customers, support product adoption and give technical advice so they get full value from NetApp solutions. It is a hybrid position: candidates must live within commuting distance of a designated NetApp office and be able to work on site as required.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with customers on NetApp products and services, recommend and manage training plans
• Build relationships with key technical personas (Infrastructure VP, Architect, Storage Admin, Security and Compliance Lead)
• Facilitate onboarding, adoption and capacity management, including guided demos and technical success plans
• Run technical health checks, manage P1 escalations and share P2-P4 awareness
• Use data insights to monitor adoption and help customers mitigate risks
• Assess and optimize customer NetApp asset inventories and qualify expansion opportunities
• Work with Renewal Specialists and Field Sales on renewals, refreshes and expansions
• Develop technical best practices and contribute to strategic technical initiatives

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years of B2B customer-facing experience (Customer Success, Sales Engineering, Technical Support, Sales Architect or Technical Account Management)
• Proven ability to build strategic technical relationships with customers
• Demonstrated success in fast-paced environments and ability to work independently and across global teams
• Commitment to obtaining NetApp Certified Technical Support Professional (NCTSP) or higher certification

Required skills

• Technical proficiency in NetApp products and/or enterprise IT; storage domain knowledge is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence
• Data analysis and MS Office required; Gainsight, Salesforce and project management tools are a plus

What we offer

• Target salary range of 110,000 - 125,000 USD, depending on location, qualifications and experience
