Team Lead – Retail & Pet Store

About the role

The Team Lead supports the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in delivering operational, sales, and merchandising goals while providing outstanding customer service in a pet‑focused retail environment. This role ensures a safe, productive workplace for team members, customers, and live animals.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain regular attendance and work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Execute opening and closing procedures, handle cash register operations, and manage cash handling and deposits.
• Perform basic, promotional, and seasonal merchandising activities, including price changes and product placement.
• Assist customers, resolve complaints, and ensure a memorable shopping experience.
• Enforce safety policies, loss‑prevention standards, and respond to alarm calls.
• Supervise and train team members on policies, procedures, and animal care.
• Sanitize and maintain holding tanks, care for live animals, and ensure their well‑being.

Required profile

• Retail experience, preferably with pet or live‑animal knowledge.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Minimum age of 18 and a valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, write, and count accurately.

Required skills

• POS system operation and cash handling.
• Basic merchandising and inventory management.
