About the role
The University of Tulsa is seeking a dedicated Teacher for the True Blue Neighbors Youth Scholars Program. This role supports middle‑school students through lesson planning, instruction, and tutoring, complementing their regular school day. The position involves engaging with families and ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans using provided curricula.
- Deliver two hours of instruction per day, three days per week.
- Provide tutoring and remedial instruction as needed.
- Coordinate with school staff to align program with academic schedule.
- Manage regularly assigned classes.
- Participate in family engagement events.
- Adhere to TBNYS policies, attend program meetings.
- Ensure a safe, equitable learning environment for diverse students.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree with appropriate teaching certificate.
- Some teaching experience.
- Computer literacy.
- Preferred: Master’s degree.
- Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish.
