About the role

The Teacher Assistant will support classroom operations at Charleston High School, working closely with staff on daily duties, bus supervision, and classroom management. This full‑time position ensures a safe and engaging environment for young learners.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out assigned duties according to Head Start Performance Standards and program policies.
  • Assist the classroom teacher and stay actively engaged in classroom operations.
  • Support assessments and screenings as directed.
  • Ensure no child is left alone at any time.
  • Use appropriate voice tone with children, families, staff, and the public.
  • Enter data as required.

Required profile

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
  • Experience working with young children and low‑income families.
