Tax Specialist – Remote Contract

About the role
The Tax Specialist provides phone, email and chat support to business and individual users of tax software. Working remotely on a 3‑4 month contract, the role handles moderate to complex inquiries during either a 9 AM‑6 PM ET or 11 AM‑8 PM ET shift.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to tax software client questions via phone, chat and email, resolving moderate to complex issues.
- Identify, document and, when necessary, escalate problems while recording interactions in the CRM system.
- Document solutions to recurring inquiries and cross‑train on additional products and systems.
- Participate in projects, process‑improvement initiatives and product testing.
- Prepare and deliver ad‑hoc reports for management.
- Maintain confidentiality of product and customer data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Associate’s degree or two years of college coursework in a business‑related field, or at least one year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, or sales/CRM.
- Experience with tax preparation, accounting, or help‑desk/customer support environments is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, service orientation and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative matrix team.
