System Administrator (Journeyman/Senior) – PMA-231

About the role

We are seeking an experienced System Administrator (Journeyman/Senior) to support the PMA-231 E-2/C-2 Airborne Command and Control Systems Program Office. The position is based on‑site in Patuxent River, MD, and involves maintaining both physical and virtual infrastructure for a government software hosting facility.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain physical servers, virtual machines, containers, and related hardware.
• Perform routine maintenance, configuration changes, and troubleshooting for Windows and Linux hosts.
• Manage system backups, disaster recovery plans, and user account permissions.
• Install, configure, and support software applications and networking components.
• Document system configurations, incident responses, and knowledge‑base articles.
• Ensure compliance with DoD security guidance, STIGs, and continuous monitoring requirements.
• Participate in Agile project planning and provide technical support to customers.

Required profile

• Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
• 6–8 years of system administration experience.
• Operating System certification (Windows or Linux).
• COMPTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD INST 8570 qualification.
