Survey Technician – Field Data & CAD Support

About the role

Langan is seeking a Survey Technician to join its collaborative team in Panama City. You will play a key role in collecting field data, preparing survey plans, and delivering CAD‑based deliverables for a variety of commercial, industrial and residential projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collect field data using surveying equipment and software to support topographic, boundary, and utility surveys.
• Interpret reports, maps, engineering plans, and aerial photographs to assess project needs and guide survey approaches.
• Assist with recovery of survey control, monumentation, construction layout, invert and subsurface utility information, and photo documentation.
• Prepare survey plans and CAD deliverables, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
• Recommend new methods to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Perform additional duties as requested by the project team.

Required profile

• High school diploma or higher; Bachelor’s degree in Surveying preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in topographic, boundary, utility surveys, construction layout, or GPS‑based surveying.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license for site visits.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Carlson and Leica processing software (preferred).
• Terramodel.
• GPS surveying equipment.
• Microsoft Word and Excel.
