About the role
Join Applied Materials as a Supplier Engineer for new college graduates, supporting new product development and supplier integration in Santa Clara. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure engineering drawing requirements, drive manufacturability, and improve supplier performance.
Key responsibilities
- Support supplier development initiatives focused on process optimization, yield improvement, capacity expansion, and manufacturing excellence.
- Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate and improve chemical, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Analyze supplier performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, and cost.
- Participate in supplier capability assessments, process audits, and production readiness reviews.
- Support qualification and scale‑up of new materials, processes, and suppliers.
- Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing and process‑related issues using structured problem‑solving methodologies.
- Conduct process capability analysis and identify opportunities for process control improvements.
- Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure robust supplier performance.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective action implementation for supplier process excursions.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects throughout the supply chain.
- Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.
- Analytical mindset with data‑analysis capabilities.
- Ability to work within standardized procedures, meet deadlines, and contribute technically without supervisory responsibilities.
