About the role
Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Supplier Engineer III to lead supplier quality, technical development, and operational excellence initiatives across its machining and contract manufacturing supply base. You will work closely with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and supplier leadership to improve quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and risk management.
Key responsibilities
- Lead supplier quality improvement initiatives and develop performance plans.
- Serve as primary technical interface for machining and contract manufacturing suppliers.
- Conduct supplier assessments, technical audits, and manufacturing process evaluations.
- Support new product introductions by assessing supplier readiness and qualification plans.
- Analyze supplier performance metrics and create executive‑level dashboards.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in supplier engineering, supplier quality, or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience supporting machining, fabrication, precision manufacturing, or contract manufacturing suppliers.
- Proven ability to lead corrective actions, root‑cause investigations, and continuous‑improvement projects.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
