Supplier Engineer III – Drive Quality & Supplier Innovation

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Supplier Engineer III to lead quality initiatives across its TKM supplier base in the United States. The role focuses on improving kit quality, supporting product development, and ensuring reliable supplier performance for semiconductor and display manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Work with all TKM suppliers in the USA to drive a quality culture and improve overall quality of TKM kits.
• Collaborate with the Surface Technology group to develop best‑known methods (BKM) for kit cleaning.
• Resolve supplier concerns for released BKM and drive first‑in‑fab kit qualification at customer fabs.
• Lead 8D and RCCA investigations with suppliers for any quality issues and own corrective actions.
• Conduct supplier technical audits, evaluate performance, and identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.
• Support W‑part quality issues, graduation, and product reliability initiatives.

Required profile

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Materials Science, or Manufacturing engineering.
• 4–7 years of experience in supplier engineering, quality management, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to lead small projects and solve complex technical problems.

• 8D problem‑solving methodology.
• Root‑cause and corrective‑action (RCCA) processes.
• Supplier technical audit and performance evaluation.
• Product reliability analysis.
