About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Supplier Account Manager (B5) to lead commodity strategy, negotiate supplier agreements and drive supply‑chain improvements. The role is based in Santa Clara, CA and includes modest travel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, align and implement commodity strategies.
• Negotiate and manage maintenance of supplier agreements.
• Engage with the PLC process to ensure alignment with commodity strategies.
• Direct new supplier introductions and disengagements.
• Resolve systemic supply‑chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead‑time.
• Develop and present high‑level cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Approve and manage Supplier Performance Improvement Plans.
• Drive formal supplier performance reviews.

Required profile

• Technical expert in the commodity discipline with broad cross‑functional knowledge.
• Anticipates business and regulatory issues and recommends product, process or service improvements.
• Leads complex projects, solves unique problems and influences senior stakeholders.
