Supervisory Investigator – Whistleblower Protection

About the role

The Supervisory Investigator leads the Directorate of Whistleblower Protection Program (DWPP) in developing, implementing, and overseeing whistleblower statutes and related investigative policies. This senior federal position guides regulatory development, data analysis, and strategic planning to enhance program effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the development and promulgation of regulations for existing and new whistleblower statutes.
• Oversee the creation and continuous maintenance of the Investigations Manual, the central repository of whistleblower investigative policies.
• Analyze nationwide program performance data to identify trends, problems, and corrective actions.
• Review analysis results and determine which recommendations to accept and implement.
• Develop and monitor the DWPP strategic plan, performance measures, and operating plan.
• Evaluate current and proposed regulations for consistency with DWPP policies and recommend appropriate changes.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen, at least 16 years old, and able to obtain required security clearance.
• Must meet financial disclosure requirements and undergo a background investigation.
• 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS‑14 level, including leading complex enforcement, compliance, and regulatory programs.
• Experience analyzing laws, regulations, policies, and program data to advise management and improve effectiveness.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience: establishing priorities, directing work, evaluating results, and resolving complex or controversial issues.
