Supervisor, Heavy Lift & Rigging

About the role

The Supervisor, Heavy Lift & Rigging leads the planning, coordination and safe execution of heavy‑midstream equipment movements in Enerflex’s manufacturing bay and yard. This role ensures all lift and transport activities follow engineered plans, company standards and customer requirements while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise jack‑and‑slide operations, equipment loading/unloading, positioning and final placement of heavy natural‑gas skids.
• Manage hydraulic jacking systems, skid tracks, cribbing, rollers and specialized rigging equipment.
• Verify equipment weights, dimensions, centre‑of‑gravity locations and load paths before execution.
• Conduct pre‑job planning, Job Safety Analyses and daily toolbox talks; stop work when unsafe conditions exist.
• Read and interpret engineered lift plans, rigging drawings and transport layouts.
• Coordinate with manufacturing planners, assembly supervisors, project managers, crane operators and transport providers.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment movements, inspections and daily activities.
• Direct, mentor and train riggers, operators and crew members; assign work and monitor performance.
• Oversee inspections, maintenance and certification of hydraulic jacking and rigging equipment.
• Coordinate equipment mobilization/demobilization and monitor inventory and replacement needs.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy rigging, lifting, transportation or jack‑and‑slide operations.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or crew‑lead experience.
• Background in oil & gas, heavy industrial manufacturing, modular fabrication or construction environments preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead crews in high‑risk environments with strong communication and decision‑making skills.
• Required certifications: NCCCO Rigger Level II, NCCCO Signalperson, OSHA 30‑Hour Construction or General Industry, current CPR/First Aid, valid driver’s license.
