Supervising Systems Engineer I

About the role

Amentum, Nuclear Projects in Denver is seeking a Supervising Systems Engineer I to lead the systems engineering scope for nuclear and other high-hazard, high-consequence projects. The role leads and performs requirements management, integration and verification of client requirements across multi-disciplinary teams, supporting the Department of Energy and other nuclear clients.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, lead and review systems engineering activities for advanced nuclear facilities and laboratories
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on requirements for nuclear infrastructure projects and assemble and manage requirement definitions
• Drive configuration management of systems-generated deliverables
• Interface with client stakeholders and help define interface controls between engineering disciplines, owners and vendors
• Manage requirements in a database tool, verify them and report results
• Support change management and its impact on documented requirements

Required profile

• US citizen; security clearance may be required and maintained
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (science, technology, engineering or mathematics)
• 5-7 years of engineering experience, preferably 5+ years in systems engineering and 2+ years leading technical teams
• Well-rounded knowledge of engineering disciplines related to nuclear facility infrastructure
• Experience with the engineering design process, change management, and industry standards, regulations and safety protocols
• Ability to travel up to 20%; in-office presence required, not a remote position

Required skills

• Requirements management tool such as Jama or DOORS
• Proficiency in TraceCloud is highly desired
• Writing and reviewing technical quality documentation
• INCOSE ASEP certification required

• Salary range of $110,000 to $127,500 annually
