Summer Sophomore Risk Intern (2027)

About the role

The 2027 Summer Sophomore Risk Internship offers undergraduate sophomores a ten‑week, full‑time, on‑site experience within the Risk Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Interns join a cohort‑based learning model, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and contribute to real‑world risk management projects that support the Bank’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data to measure, monitor, and evaluate risk management practices and metrics.
• Collaborate with risk management professionals to assess controls, dependencies, and handoffs of critical processes.
• Support program management and business‑analysis activities related to risk.
• Generate reports, inventories, plans, assessments, analyses, and guidance documents to drive effective risk management.

Required profile

• Current undergraduate sophomore.
• Strong analytical thinking and communication abilities.
• Interest in risk management and financial services.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
