Substitute Teaching Assistant – Early Childhood

About the role

Montessori Academy of Broward (MAB) seeks a Substitute Teaching Assistant to maintain continuity of learning when the regular teacher is absent. You will support a child‑centered, developmentally focused classroom environment for students from infancy through 8th grade.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom instruction following the assigned teacher’s lesson plans and routines.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful learning environment.
  • Manage student behavior according to school policies.
  • Monitor student well‑being and promptly report injuries, illnesses, or significant behavioral concerns.
  • Adapt to various grade levels, subjects, and classroom settings as needed.

Required profile

  • High school graduate (advanced education preferred).
  • Previous early‑childhood teaching experience desired.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb.
  • Bilingual ability preferred; English required.
