About the role
The Student Development Specialist II joins the Student Media team within Student Life at Texas A&M University. This position supports student‑run media outlets, providing guidance, operational oversight, and professional development opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as secondary adviser for The Battalion newspaper, The Aggieland yearbook, and Maroon Life magazine, overseeing budgets and compliance training.
- Assist the Associate Director with daily production of online and print editions, coordinating staff across news, advertising, production, and distribution.
- Develop student staff, ensuring they receive leadership training and timely support.
- Collaborate with on‑ and off‑campus partners to expand media platforms and manage advertising sales, billing, and inventory.
Required profile
- Experience advising student media organizations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, collaborative, and able to manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with NCAA and SEC media guidelines.
