Student Accounts Specialist

About the role

The Student Accounts Specialist supports the Campus Scholars team by managing student billing, payment plans, and collections. This full-time position works closely with Financial Aid and Student Success Coaches to ensure accurate account handling and timely communication with students.

Key responsibilities

• Package payment plans, set up automated email/text reminders, and post student payments.
• Review and post charges after the add/drop period and process account prorations.
• Monitor delinquent accounts, notify Student Success Coaches when payments are overdue, and coordinate collections.
• Collaborate with Financial Aid to update funding packages and establish new payment plans for continuing students.
• Respond to student inquiries regarding billing and payment options.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in student accounts at a college or university.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in financial aid.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, education, or a related field.
• Detail‑oriented, ethical, and able to maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
• Proficiency with Google applications.
