Structural Steel Estimator

About the role

We are a family‑owned steel fabrication and erection company seeking a Permanent Estimator for Structural Steel. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, developing bid proposals, and supporting construction projects with detailed financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans, specifications, and performing quantity take‑offs.
• Develop complete and accurate bid proposals for structural steel projects.
• Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost‑tracking reports.
• Interpret contracts and technical information for stakeholders.
• Use specialized software such as Fabsuite, Fabtrol, and Tekla EPM for data analysis and budgeting.
• Negotiate with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to secure advantageous terms.
• Stay updated on new techniques and materials in the construction industry.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural steel estimation.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and regulations.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
