Strategic Supply Chain Project Manager for New Products

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Strategic Supply Chain Project Manager to lead the design and commercialization of supply chains for new semiconductor products. You will work within the Dielectric Deposition Products business unit, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliable, cost‑effective material sourcing from prototype through high‑volume production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute supply‑chain strategies that meet performance, cost, and risk requirements from NPI to high‑volume manufacturing.
• Negotiate with key suppliers to secure reliable, dual‑sourced components and eliminate single points of failure.
• Create process maps for long‑lead items and implement mitigation plans.
• Maintain material cost‑reduction roadmaps and lead price negotiations to achieve gross‑margin targets.
• Oversee end‑to‑end NPI programs from a supply‑chain perspective, managing timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• MS in Industrial Engineering, MBA, or related technical degree; BS in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 4 years experience in semiconductor equipment development, fabrication, and supply‑chain management.
• Proven ability to work across engineering, manufacturing, finance, and quality teams.

Required skills

• Semiconductor equipment development and fabrication processes.
• Supply‑chain design, dual‑sourcing strategy, and cost‑reduction methodologies.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Cost (DFC) techniques.
• Cost apportionment modeling and material cost management.
• Program management of NPI projects.
