Staff Software Engineer – People Products

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead the People Products team, building AI‑native tools that shape the employee lifecycle—from hiring to promotions. You will work directly with Claude and internal HR stakeholders to prototype and ship high‑impact features quickly.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop full‑stack, end‑to‑end solutions across the People Products portfolio.
• Create AI‑native workflows, including tools, evaluations, prompts, and product features.
• Collaborate with HR teams, recruiters, and managers to gather requirements and iterate rapidly.
• Make independent product and architecture decisions in a low‑structure environment.
• Contribute ideas on team processes and identify high‑leverage AI applications for people workflows.

Required profile

• 8+ years of full‑stack or product engineering experience, with a track record of leading complex, multi‑month projects or teams.
• Experience shipping LLM‑native features or applications.
• Ability to build large features independently and make sound architectural choices.
• Self‑sufficient from idea to production without needing external blockers.
• Comfortable moving fast while maintaining high quality and handling direct user feedback.
