Staff Software Engineer – Financial Platform

About the role

Credit Genie is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical direction of its Financial Platform, the core system that moves money for cash advances, repayments, refunds, and card management. You will own the architecture and roadmap for payment orchestration, ledgering and reconciliation, ensuring the platform scales securely as transaction volume grows.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the long‑term technical roadmap for money‑movement systems.
• Design and implement provably correct financial operations with idempotent, exactly‑once semantics and automated reconciliation.
• Own end‑to‑end backend development, from architecture through deployment and production monitoring.
• Lead design reviews, mentor senior and mid‑level engineers, and establish best practices for testing, observability and operational excellence.
• Manage integrations with banks, debit‑card processors and data aggregators, building robust abstractions for external financial services.

Required profile

• Extensive experience building large‑scale, high‑availability backend systems for financial services.
• Deep understanding of payment flows, ledgering, reconciliation and the need for correctness in money movement.
• Proven ability to set technical direction and influence engineering standards across a team.
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills, capable of guiding senior and mid‑level engineers.
