Staff+ Researcher – Cybersecurity Products

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Staff+ Researcher to advance its Claude Security product. You will explore the security capabilities of frontier AI models, evaluate their performance, and translate promising results into usable tools for customers without deep security expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Rapidly prototype to define the AI frontier for cybersecurity work.
• Design rigorous evaluations that reflect real security team tasks.
• Build datasets, harnesses, and scoring mechanisms for those evaluations.
• Engage with the cybersecurity community to identify high‑impact AI applications.
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers to operationalize promising capabilities.
• Track evolving model capabilities and guide future product direction.
• Share findings with product leadership to shape priorities.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in security research, engineering, or related fields.
• Deep expertise in one or more security domains such as vulnerability research, exploit development, reverse engineering, malware analysis, incident response, or offensive security.
• Proven ability to build AI‑powered security tools and move quickly from idea to prototype.
• Comfort designing rigorous evaluations and interpreting results honestly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical findings.
