Staff Propulsion Systems Engineer

About the role

Moog is seeking an experienced Staff Propulsion Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of bipropellant and monopropellant propulsion systems for strategic missiles and space missions. The role is hybrid, based in Niagara Falls, NY, and involves full‑cycle responsibility from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall propulsion system design, from initial concept to qualification, production, and high‑rate industrialization.
• Oversee detailed systems and fluidic analyses, component selection, and integration with internal and external suppliers.
• Develop and manage verification plans, test campaigns, and design for manufacturing strategies.
• Mentor and coach engineering staff, and present technical results to customers and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred) with at least 7 years of progressive experience.
• Proven leadership in development projects and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD security clearance and undergo a full physical examination.

Required skills

• Propulsion system design for large‑scale, high‑volume production.
• Teamcenter/NX or comparable CAD tools.
• Fluidic and systems analysis expertise.
• Design‑for‑manufacturing (DFM) mindset.
