About the role

The Staff Pharmacist provides comprehensive drug therapy management within a multidisciplinary care team at Monroe Medical Center. Responsibilities include preparing, dispensing, and verifying medications while ensuring safety, cost‑effectiveness, and compliance with clinical guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate physician orders considering allergies, age, renal function, concomitant drugs, lab values, dosing guidelines, and patient diagnosis.
• Ensure safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications, including sterile products and investigational drugs, documented through quality assurance processes.
• Manage drug therapy to optimize patient outcomes through interventions, adverse‑drug‑reaction assessment, chart reviews, and patient education.
• Maintain professional licensure, certifications, and continuing education to stay current with pharmacy practice.
• Oversee pharmacy operations in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Adapt communication and service delivery to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and cultural considerations.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (required); Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) preferred.
• Current pharmacy license in the state of practice.
• No prior work experience required.
• Proficient computer skills for data entry, retrieval, and use of Windows‑style applications and pharmacy‑specific software.
• Effective verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal abilities, and flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and on‑call.
