Staff Electrical Systems Manufacturing Engineer

Shield AI is seeking a Staff Electrical Systems Advance Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development, integration, and production support of advanced electrical systems for aerospace and defense platforms. The role drives manufacturability, production readiness, and continuous improvement across wiring harnesses, PCBA assemblies, power distribution, batteries, sensors, and mission‑critical hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing engineering activities for electrical and avionics systems from prototype through full‑rate production.
• Develop and optimize processes, tooling, work instructions, and production flows for wiring harnesses, EWIS, PCBA assemblies, power distribution, batteries, and sensors.
• Partner with design engineering to improve manufacturability, reliability, testability, and producibility.
• Drive root‑cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement for electrical manufacturing issues.
• Support supplier qualification, process validation, DFM/DFA reviews, and transition of new products into manufacturing.

Required profile

• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience supporting complex electrical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in prototype manufacturing within a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Proven ability to work on wiring harnesses, EWIS standards, PCB/PCBA manufacturing, and aerospace/defense electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA principles, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action methodologies.
