Staff Architect – Retail Design

About the role

The architecture and design studio specializes in high‑end retail and hospitality projects and is expanding its New York City office. We are looking for a Staff Architect to lead and coordinate design work across multiple phases, from concept through construction documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage everyday project activities, ensuring quality control and timely delivery.
• Oversee all design phases, including schematic design, contract documents, specifications, and shop‑drawing reviews.
• Conduct site visits, coordinate with consultants, and support project close‑out.
• Direct the hands‑on drawing production of the project team.
• Coordinate workload with consultants to meet project schedules.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred).
• Experience with retail, commercial, and mixed‑use design projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction, site planning, structural and MEP criteria.
• Excellent management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Word.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
