Staff AI Engineer - AI Platform

About the role

ClickUp is building a converged AI workspace that unifies tasks, docs, chat, calendar, and search. As a Staff AI Engineer on the AI Platform, you will design and operate the core infrastructure that powers large‑language‑model (LLM) services and deliver intelligent features across the product.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable AI platform services for LLM deployment, orchestration, and lifecycle management.
• Build robust APIs and backend systems that integrate AI‑powered features into ClickUp’s core platform.
• Develop infrastructure for model serving, monitoring, logging, and automated evaluation to ensure reliability and performance.
• Integrate with multiple LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) and manage model selection, routing, and fallback strategies.
• Drive AI privacy, security, and compliance practices, including data anonymization and secure handling.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing and building scalable AI/ML platforms in production.
• Proven track record applying LLMs to real‑world product features.
• Strong background in backend engineering, distributed systems, and cloud‑native technologies.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills in cross‑functional teams.
• Passion for staying at the forefront of AI infrastructure and innovation.
