Staff Accountant (Hospitality)

About the role

Arlo Hotels is seeking a dynamic Staff Accountant to join its New York property. Reporting to the Director of Finance/Assistant Director of Finance, you will support the hotel’s financial operations, ensuring accurate billing, payroll processing and timely reconciliation of accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Handle guest and client inquiries and bill direct‑bill accounts promptly.
• Process and follow up on direct‑bill applications and credit‑card chargebacks.
• Reconcile daily credit‑card transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Assist the Assistant Director of Finance with balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Process weekly payroll, review and approve documentation, and ensure proper paycheck distribution.
• Prepare payroll journal entries and respond to governmental inquiries.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll and financial information.
• Manage petty‑cash, gift‑certificate vouchers, and accounts‑payable reports.
• Prepare checks, rebates, business‑promotion F&B checks, and transaction discrepancy reports.
• Prepare journal vouchers and compile annual & quarterly accommodation statistics for federal reporting.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and integrity.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Effective communication with internal departments (Front Desk, Revenue Management, Purchasing, Sales, Food & Beverage) and external parties (guests, vendors).
• Proactive approach to resolving billing and payroll issues.
• Ability to meet deadlines and follow established procedures.
