Sr. Software Architect - Platform Services

About the role

Panasonic Avionics is seeking a senior software architect to lead the design of embedded software platforms for next‑generation in‑flight entertainment and vehicle systems. You will shape safe, reliable, and innovative solutions that power millions of passengers’ experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Architect end‑to‑end embedded software platforms for complex in‑flight entertainment systems, ensuring hardware integration and safety compliance.
• Lead development of core platform services such as bootloading, commissioning, OTA software updates, networking integrations, and distributed storage management.
• Collaborate with engineers across virtualization, trusted OS, graphics, compute, safety/security, and multimedia domains to deliver cohesive system‑level solutions.
• Partner with hardware teams to co‑design hardware and software, optimizing embedded capabilities.
• Promote architectural patterns and frameworks that accelerate time‑to‑market and improve software quality.
• Communicate architectural vision through presentations and documentation.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and prototype concepts to evolve the platform.

Required profile

• Proven experience architecting complex embedded systems, especially in Linux and Android environments.
• Strong focus on safety‑critical design and reliability.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with hardware and software teams.
