Sr. Manager of Security Operations

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced security leader with deep AI knowledge to head its Security Operations program at the Santa Clara headquarters and surrounding Bay Area sites. The Senior Manager will develop, oversee, and execute security operations, protecting personnel, intellectual property, and physical assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage security operations across multiple California locations, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Set expectations and oversee contract security services, physical security standards, and operational metrics (KPIs, SLAs).
• Design and deliver security awareness and training programs in partnership with internal teams.
• Manage budgets, ensure accountability for projects, and drive strategic initiatives aligned with Global Security.
• Respond to after‑hour escalations, emergencies, and crisis situations as needed.

Required profile

• 10+ years of corporate security experience, with 5+ years leading multi‑location teams in a technology environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience; certifications such as CTH, CPP, or CPO are a plus.
• Proven ability to develop governance processes, KPIs/KRIs, dashboards, and reporting for program effectiveness.
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills across senior functions (HR, Legal, Risk Management, IT, Facilities).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using AI tools for project management, budget modeling, case triage, and intelligent alerting.
• Familiarity with common security applications and asset‑protection systems.
