Sr HVAC Mechanic

About the role

Celgard, a leader in membrane battery separator manufacturing, is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to join its Maintenance team in Concord, NC. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will work day shifts (Monday‑Friday, 7 am‑3:30 pm) ensuring reliable operation of all heating, ventilation and air‑conditioning equipment in an industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems across the plant, including AC/DC electrical components.
• Perform preventative maintenance, replace faulty parts, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Work at heights up to 30 feet, lift up to 50 lb, and navigate confined spaces to access equipment.
• Document work orders, update maintenance logs, and communicate status via company communication tools.
• Provide overtime support and be available for second or third shift coverage when required.

Required profile

• Associate degree or accredited HVAC trade school completion.
• Minimum 10 years of industrial HVAC maintenance experience.
• EPA Section 608 Clean Air License (or willingness to obtain).
• Preferred NC Electrician and NC Fire Sprinkler Maintenance Technician Licenses.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently on a high‑performing team.

Required skills

• HVAC system installation and repair.
• AC/DC electrical troubleshooting.
• Use of hand and power tools (wrenches, drills, pipe cutters, torches, volt meters, etc.).
• PIV equipment operation (forklift, man‑lift).
• Proficiency with MS Office, Word, Excel.
• Knowledge of pneumatic, facility monitoring/control, and power plant systems.
