Sr. Accountant, Fixed Assets

About the role

The Senior Accountant will join Tesla’s Fixed Assets team to manage the full lifecycle of infrastructure assets, from acquisition through depreciation, valuation, and disposal. This position supports critical facilities such as data centers and manufacturing sites that enable next‑generation products like Robotaxi and Optimus.

Key responsibilities

• Review asset requests and Capex purchase orders to ensure correct account coding and compliance with capitalization policies.
• Act as the cross‑functional liaison for fixed‑asset transactions, handling approvals, capitalization, transfers, and disposals.
• Analyze construction‑in‑progress (CIP) assets, capitalize them, and place them in service upon project completion.
• Prepare journal entries, account analyses, and infra‑asset schedules for interim and end‑of‑quarter reporting.
• Collaborate with production, operations, FP&A, and tax teams to support annual confirmations and financial metrics.
• Identify manual processes across regions, drive automation, and reduce manual effort within the Infra Accounting team.
• Serve as primary point of contact and system administrator for the Tesla Infra Accounting system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and accounting principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions and adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a passion for delivering results.
