Spring 2027 Industrial Engineer Co‑op

About the role

This Spring 2027 co‑op offers Industrial Engineering students hands‑on experience at Bosch’s Charleston plant. You will work on real‑world projects that improve equipment layout, material handling, and lean manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Update plant layouts of machines and equipment using CAD (MicroStation).
• Write, design, and coordinate work requests for equipment installation or relocation.
• Perform time and delay studies of machine cycles and operator stations.
• Participate in ergonomic evaluations and improvement initiatives.
• Support Lean Manufacturing projects such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kanban, quick changeover, and standard work.
• Design, implement, and improve material‑handling systems.
• Lead a large‑scale project from inception to completion during the second work term.
• Assist a small department within the plant during the third work term.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Systems Engineering.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Organizational and problem‑solving skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks.
• Self‑starting, results‑oriented, and flexible attitude.
