Spooling Lead – Fabrication (Night Shift)

About the role

The Spooling Lead – Fabrication on the night shift provides daily leadership to a team of fitters, welders and helpers in an industrial environment. Reporting to a supervisor, the lead ensures work orders are completed on time, safely and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensuring fitters, welders, and helpers have the necessary tools and materials to complete their tasks.
• Coordinating with the Fabrication Supervisor, Planner, and QA/QC to meet schedule and project requirements.
• Assigning work orders, reviewing scope of work, and documenting any rework.
• Maintaining a clean, organized work area and confirming spools are free of debris before operation.
• Mentoring and training team members and leading daily safety meetings.
• Documenting employee attendance, ensuring devices are online at shift end, and upholding the 6S program.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED or a 2‑year technical/vocational certificate.
• 5–10 years of relevant industrial fabrication experience with proven leadership ability.
• Exceptional attendance and safety record.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lb and work in an industrial environment.
