Spanish Teacher - Temporary Leave Replacement

About the role

St. Mark’s School seeks a passionate Spanish teacher to inspire a love of language, guide students in discovering the power of stories and ideas, and help them find their own voices. This temporary, part‑time role runs from mid‑November to early April, covering a leave of absence.

Key responsibilities

• Teach one section of Spanish III, meeting on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (schedule adjusts for 4‑day and 3‑day weeks).
• Potentially cover a section of Spanish I, depending on interest, availability, and school needs.
• Provide meaningful, timely feedback that challenges and inspires students.
• Collaborate with department colleagues on curriculum and instruction.

Required profile

• Degree in Spanish or a related interdisciplinary field.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in Spanish and English.
• At least two years of secondary‑level teaching experience (preferred).
• Ability to connect with diverse learners and teach inclusively.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with educational technology tools, such as Google Suite.
