Software QA Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering, is seeking a Software QA Engineer to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for its complex software products. The role involves systematic testing, debugging, and collaboration with development engineers to ensure high‑quality solutions for semiconductor and advanced display technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Debug complex software products using systematic tests and maintain quality standards.
• Perform software tests on code and enhancements with limited supervision.
• Analyze and write test standards, procedures, and documentation of test results.
• Consult with development engineers to resolve problems and provide feedback on programming languages and systems.
• Assist in leading or executing software test projects and ensure integration with scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in software testing and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Understands best practices and how QA integrates with other engineering areas.
• Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and may lead small, low‑risk projects.
• Solves complex problems by analyzing multiple sources of information and building consensus.
