Software Engineer, Vehicle Diagnostics

About the role

As a Software Engineer in Vehicle Diagnostics you will develop, maintain and enhance software solutions that support multi‑brand vehicle diagnostics. You will work directly with diagnostic data, vehicle communication protocols and automotive electronics, helping to improve diagnostic coverage, quality and the overall customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, test and maintain diagnostic applications, automation tools and proprietary engineering scripts.
• Debug complex technical issues and perform root‑cause analysis on diagnostic and validation data.
• Develop and maintain diagnostic databases and structured data pipelines.
• Collaborate with global engineering, validation and product development teams to deliver innovative diagnostic solutions.
• Support investigations of vehicle communication and diagnostic failures, including work with ECUs and ADAS calibration systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong programming fundamentals with experience in object‑oriented languages.
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug and analyse complex software and hardware interactions.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment that requires technical curiosity and creative problem‑solving.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C, C++ and Java.
• Scripting and automation experience with Python or PowerShell.
• Knowledge of databases, structured data handling and data analysis techniques.
• Software debugging, troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills.
