Software Engineer – Semiconductor Equipment

About the role

As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you’ll dive deep into ground‑breaking technologies—like machine learning and AI—to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers’ high‑value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop code for complex software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices
• Develop software documentation and test procedures
• Troubleshoot a variety of difficult software problems
• Design and implement bug fixes
• Define software specifications and test plans for simulators, test benches or the lab
• Communicate with internal and external customers for requirement analysis, project schedule and software troubleshooting

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• 4–7 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in C/C++.Net, C#, operating systems, networking principles, algorithms, multi‑threading, and RPC
• Master’s degree in a related field (preferred)
• Leadership skills to lead small projects as needed (preferred)
